TOKYO, 14th April 2025 (WAM) – In a formal letter to Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the two countries’ close bilateral ties and looked into ways to further their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The letter was delivered by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy to Japan, during a high-level meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo. The delegation included Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State, and Shihab Al Faheem, UAE Ambassador to Japan.
Dr. Al Jaber expressed his support for the upcoming Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai and President Sheikh Mohamed’s warm respects and best wishes for Japan’s continuous success during the meeting. In reply, Prime Minister Ishiba greeted the president of the United Arab Emirates and conveyed his aspirations for the country’s continued progress and expansion.
Opportunities to increase collaboration within the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which was formed in 2022, were examined by both parties. Dr. Al Jaber underlined the UAE’s dedication to strengthening bilateral relations, especially in areas that are vital to both countries’ sustainable development objectives, such as commerce, energy, advanced technology, economics, and space exploration.
The discussions also highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between the UAE and Japan, tracing back to before the UAE’s formation, including Abu Dhabi’s participation in Expo 1970 Osaka, a testament to the enduring diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
This high-level engagement underscores the mutual commitment to fostering innovation, economic growth, and long-term strategic collaboration.
