A humanoid robot developed in China has officially entered the Guinness World Records after completing a remarkable three-day, 100-kilometre walk — the longest distance ever achieved by a robot of its kind.
The AgiBot A2, standing 169 centimetres tall, began its journey on the evening of November 10 from Suzhou. Over the next three days, it travelled through highways and urban streets, finally reaching Shanghai’s famous Bund area on November 13. Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement as the first certified long-distance trek completed by a humanoid robot, with a total distance measured at 106.286 kilometres.
According to its Shanghai-based creator, AgiBot, the robot successfully navigated different terrains and followed traffic rules throughout the continuous walk. Video footage shared by the company shows the silver-and-black A2 moving steadily alongside cyclists and scooter riders, later speeding up as it approached the Bund with the city skyline behind it.

Analysts predict that by 2050, the global population of humanoid robots could exceed one billion.
