In a major step toward developing Abu Dhabi’s AI infrastructure, Cisco, the world leader in networking and cybersecurity, has formally joined the Stargate UAE consortium as a preferred technology partner. Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins made the announcement as part of a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with key partners G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, and SoftBank Group.
A state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) data center with a total capacity of one gigawatt (GW) is to be built in the UAE capital as part of the Stargate UAE initiative. The first phase, which will deliver 200 megawatts (MW), is expected to be completed in 2026.
Under this partnership, Cisco will play a critical role in deploying advanced networking, security, and observability solutions that will support the creation of next-generation AI compute clusters. The goal is to unlock the potential of artificial intelligence by laying the digital foundation for innovation, complex problem-solving, and scalable impact.

The MoU follows Robbins’ recent tour of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, during which Cisco unveiled a series of region-wide strategic AI initiatives. These include investments across all stages of AI development, from infrastructure to application deployment, using Cisco’s industry-leading technology stack.
Cisco keeps solidifying its standing as a reliable facilitator of AI-driven digital transformation in the Middle East by partnering with both domestic and foreign organizations. The company reaffirms its dedication to creating a safe, AI-ready future for Abu Dhabi and beyond by participating in the Stargate UAE project.
