Dubai Billionaire Warns India Could Lose Millions of Outsourcing Jobs to AI

Dubai Billionaire

Dubai — January 2026 — A prominent Dubai-based billionaire has warned that India may face the loss of millions of outsourcing and back-office jobs as artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly transforms the global services industry.

Speaking at a recent business and technology forum in Dubai, the billionaire highlighted that AI-powered automation is increasingly capable of handling tasks traditionally outsourced to India, including customer support, data processing, software testing, accounting, and basic legal services.

For decades, India has been the world’s largest outsourcing hub, employing millions across IT services, business process outsourcing (BPO), and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO). However, advances in generative AI, machine learning, and autonomous systems are now allowing companies to perform these functions faster and at lower costs without relying heavily on human labor.

The Dubai entrepreneur noted that multinational corporations are already reassessing their outsourcing strategies, opting to invest in AI platforms rather than expanding overseas workforces. “AI doesn’t take holidays, doesn’t require office space, and continues to learn and improve,” he said, adding that the economic logic is becoming difficult for companies to ignore.

Industry experts agree that while AI may eliminate many routine roles, it will also create demand for higher-skilled positions in areas such as AI development, system supervision, cybersecurity, and data ethics. However, they caution that the transition could be painful if reskilling efforts fail to keep pace with technological change.

Indian policymakers and technology leaders have acknowledged the challenge and are urging increased investment in digital education, AI research, and upskilling programs to protect the country’s workforce. Several IT firms have already begun retraining employees to work alongside AI tools rather than compete with them.

The Dubai billionaire concluded by stressing that AI should be seen as a wake-up call rather than a threat. Countries that adapt quickly, he said, will continue to thrive in the global economy, while those that delay risk losing their competitive edge.
