Expand North Star and Gitex Global 2024 Are Expected to Drive the Global AI Economy to $2.7 Trillion by 2032

Gitex Global 2024

The largest tech and startup event in the world, Gitex Global 2024, is returning for its 44th edition, which will be held from October 14–18 at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC). The event this year aims to reshape the AI ecosystem and digital economy globally.

Gitex Global 2024, with the theme “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy,” intends to bring together important figures in the tech sector, such as businesses, governments, investors, experts, startups, academic institutions, and researchers. With an extended initiative meant to encourage cooperation and creativity, the UAE will once again become the heart of the AI world.

“We are doubling down on global collaborations and intensive engagements at Gitex Global in Dubai,” said Trixie LohMirmand, executive vice president of DWTC, the organization of the event. We will be able to obtain an advantage over our rivals in the battle for digital dominance thanks to this.

Extend North Star

Expand North Star, the world’s largest startup and investment event, is held in conjunction with Gitex Global from October 13 to October 16 at Dubai Harbour. The event is expected to draw in over 6,500 firms, 1,800 startups, and 1,200 investors from over 180 countries, with backing from the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. These occasions will advance the following wave of AI-powered technologies and demonstrate the UAE’s dedication to development and expansion in this field.

According to LohMirmand, “Expand North Star is committed to fostering the development of AI-driven startups, scale-ups, and unicorns, helping drive forward the next wave of technological breakthroughs.”

The Growing AI Economy

According to Fortune Business Insights, the worldwide AI market is expected to expand significantly, hitting $621 billion in 2024 and rise to $2.7 trillion by 2032. AI will be front and center at Gitex Global 2024, where over 3,500 companies will showcase cutting-edge advances in cloud, IoT, data, and AI technology. The event this year has seen a roughly 40% rise in foreign participation, which is indicative of the rising aspirations of developing digital economies.

Realizing the Potential of Regional AI

As it participates in Gitex Global for the 25th year in a row, Dubai Internet City will be essential to realizing the AI potential of the area. Ammar Al Malik, managing director of Dubai Internet City and executive vice president of TECOM Group PJSC, highlighted the significance of Dubai’s pro-innovation policies and described Gitex Global as an essential venue for advancing technological innovations that benefit society.

The Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and G42 Group, two well-known Abu Dhabi organizations, will also be important attendees, enhancing the UAE’s standing as a major hub for AI worldwide.

More than 120 hours of tech and AI content

More than 120 hours of deep tech content will be available at Gitex Global 2024, covering the application of AI in fields like EdTech, Digital Finance, and Future Health. The biggest Data Center Symposium in the area will also be introduced at this year’s event, which will include prominent figures from the sector like Schneider Electric, Datalec, Kerno, and Khazna.

Platform for Scaleups and Unicorns

The world’s top tech businesses, unicorns, and soonicorns will have a platform at this event. Gitex Global is set to bring together 59 of the world’s leading unicorns this year, including Axelera, DeepL, Insilico Medicine, and Synthesis AI.

Another key highlight will be the much awaited Gitex Cyber Valley, where cybersecurity professionals will be talking about the future of cybersecurity worldwide. The world’s leading CISOs, CIOs, and GRC experts will gather at the event to discuss how businesses handle the growing threat of cybercrime, with expenses predicted to exceed $10.5 trillion by 2025.

Accelerating the Upcoming Wave of Startups

Extend North Star will keep working to connect entrepreneurs from across the world with investors, enterprise clients, and new markets in order to support the next generation of technological innovation. Venture capitalists such as SOSV, Bessemer Ventures, and Lightrock, who oversee assets of over $1.2 trillion, will be in attendance to provide support to the most promising startups.

In addition, Gitex Global will host the second Supernova Challenge 2.0, the biggest startup pitch competition in the world, which will award winners a portion of the $200,000 prize fund.
