The insights come ahead of Intersec Saudi Arabia 2025, the region’s premier security, safety, and fire protection event, scheduled to take place from 29 September to 1 October 2025 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center (RICEC).

Speaking in advance of the event, senior representatives from King Salman Park Foundation, Abu Dhabi Police, and Event Concept Consultancy emphasized the importance of blending AI-powered surveillance systems, real-time analytics, and advanced crowd management tools with human judgment and coordination.

It starts with collaborative planning, information sharing, and proactive threat prevention.”

For Lt. Col. Dr. Hamad Khalifa Al Nuaimi, Head of the Telecommunications Division at Abu Dhabi Police, leveraging real-time intelligence is critical. “Tools that deliver instant insights into crowd density, vehicular traffic, and mobile network activity allow decision-makers to adapt to emerging risks and operational needs on the ground,” he explained.
Similarly, Konstantin Turuntcev, Managing Partner at Event Concept Consultancy, stressed the value of global collaboration: “Knowledge is power, and every experience provides unique lessons. Sharing these insights internationally is key to preventing future incidents and elevating security standards for mega-events worldwide.”
Local Context and Cultural Sensitivity
Experts also highlighted the importance of cultural awareness in security planning. Ahmed E. Al Shammari, Security Operations Lead, noted: “Balancing robust security with respect for cultural norms and visitor experience is essential. Operations should remain discreet, community-conscious, and aligned with heritage protection standards.”
This approach is particularly significant as Saudi Arabia prepares to host a wave of international events, from the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
Future Security Summit: Addressing Critical Challenges
All four experts will join the panel discussion “Mega-Event Protection Excellence: Mastering the Security Challenges for Large-Scale Gatherings” on the opening day of Intersec Saudi Arabia 2025. The session, part of the Future Security Summit powered by ASIS International Dhahran Chapter, will explore complex security challenges including crowd control, emergency response, inter-agency coordination, and smart surveillance integration.
Other sessions on day one include “Integrated Security Design for Smart Cities: Lessons from NEOM” and a keynote on Crowd Movement and Accessibility, reflecting the event’s emphasis on innovative, human-centered approaches to security.
