Bridging the Gap Between Education and Industry
Talabat Egypt, a leading technology platform in e-commerce across the Middle East and North Africa, has successfully concluded its “Up-skilling Program” in partnership with the Information Technology Institute (ITI), a training arm of Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The initiative, launched to support and empower young talent in the technology sector, provided targeted training in data engineering and software engineering to equip students and fresh graduates with skills aligned to labor market needs.
Hands-On Training for 50 Selected Candidates
A total of 50 students were chosen for the program after passing specialized technical assessments to ensure their readiness. The training was divided into two tracks, each comprising four intensive sessions led by engineers from Talabat’s Egypt Tech Hub. These sessions offered participants a rare opportunity to engage directly with industry experts, gaining insights into real-world practices and challenges.
The program culminated in a full-day workshop focusing on professional skills development and creative problem-solving. Talabat’s talent acquisition team hosted an interactive session on employability skills, equipping participants with practical tools for entering the job market. A brainstorming and innovation segment, co-facilitated by Talabat engineers, further enhanced creative thinking and professional readiness.

Hadeer Shalaby, Vice President and Managing Director of Talabat Egypt, highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative:

Shalaby also stressed that Talabat’s youth support extends beyond job creation:

Building a Broader Impact
This program is part of Talabat Egypt’s wider commitment to youth development. The company recently signed a four-year sponsorship agreement with the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation, reinforcing its long-term vision to contribute to vital sectors such as sports, youth empowerment, and societal development.
