What are Milestone Systems’ key focus areas and innovations for 2025?
So for 2025, this year it is more about partnership for us and emphasizing the open platform philosophy that we have at Milestone. First and foremost, we have just recently acquired two companies. BriefCam Analytics and Arcus, the cloud provider from the US. This is one of the announcements that we’ve started with the mark here, platforming at InterSec.
Moreover, we are still presenting the capabilities of our data-driven video technology platform when it comes to showcasing eight technology partners with us here today with live demos all interfaced within the Milestone Expotech platform.
I think you’ve answered a bit of my second question, which is what new technologies or solutions is Milestone showcasing at InterSec 2025?
So this is our 15th year here at InterSec, this year at the Milestone booth and we are showcasing our eight technology partners within different industries and use cases, applying different applications, that can be on analytics, whether powered by AI or within specific perimeter detection angle that serves for either smart cities as well or hospitality industries.
So, we’re trying to leverage all of these cutting-edge applications to show our customers that they can tailor solutions that are flexible and that are convenient to their demands and their technology requirements.
And how does Milestone leverage AI to enhance VMS?
What we’re doing is with the applications, specifically the analytics application powered by AI, we are putting all this data into Milestone with the processing AI engine behind it that is analyzing this data and it is transferring it into insights.
It’s providing our customers with the insights that they can have to take actions accordingly, be it based on alarms or actual instructions that specific security guards need to take.
When we look at the business side of things, this could be insights like when it comes to a dashboard platform on operational efficiencies or capacities as well. So it’s a range of different AI applications that we are translating from all these data that could meet the needs based on the industry that our customers are in.
Final question, what role does Milestone play in advancing the smart city vision in the Middle East, and which is important for KSA UAE?
So, as I’ve mentioned, we’ve been here for quite some time in the market. We are leading the market in UAE and the region. We’ve seen a big growth happening in KSA as well. We’ve kind of walked through the technological growth that happened in the region when initially the video management software was looked at just purely from surveillance needs and requirements and security needs
Now, with Milestone’s technological innovation, we’re moving more towards how technology is serving us to have smarter and safer applications. With this, we are working closely with the government in the UAE towards their smart city initiatives where we are collecting all this data coming from different sensors, the IoT sensors, smart sensors, and cameras. So, the input could not just be fed from the cameras, it could actually be from multiple smart sensors that are all fed into the Milestone ExpoTec platform and is translated into one single interface for our end-users to have insights on the operations that they have.
