Trelix to Showcase ‘Living Security’ XDR Architecture at GITEX 2022

Last Updated on November 13, 2023 by Ameer Hamza

Over the years, the scourge of cybersecurity attacks has significantly increased. Bad actors have gotten craftier with breaching security systems and evading detection. For instance, the International Cybersecurity Journal reported that in 2020, Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks in the Middle East peaked at 10 million. Scams and ransomware attacks on Middle Eastern companies have also increased this year. This rise in attacks has been a significant cause of concern for risk managers and cybersecurity experts.

While many cybersecurity staff believe that integrating more security infrastructure is the most viable option to evade these attacks, this option might not be effective. Integrating more security frameworks will create huge data volumes for cybersecurity staff to navigate. If care is not taken, the entire strategy could become counterproductive, with staff being overworked and detection channels remaining loose. Thus, the key lies in optimising detection channels. Cybersecurity company, Trellix, has devised a Living Security XDR specifically created to improve threat detection.

Trellix is set to debut at GITEX 2022, with the XDR architecture as the central presentation point. The debut will feature a specialised presentation of its Extended Detection and Response (XDR) framework and the product’s value proposition. Trellix tags its XDR product as ‘Living Security’ due to the infrastructure’s capability for proactive detection. Aside from the XDR exhibition, Trellix will showcase its other service offerings, including its Professional Services Consulting and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution.

Trellix and the XDR Architecture

While the Trellix team is set to give more details on the XDR model at GITEX 2022, the company has provided some information that gives visitors insight into what to expect at the presentation. According to Trellix, the ‘Living Security’ XDR model offers features that make it stand out from other XDR models on the market. For instance, Trellix’s XDR model utilises high-end AI to actively detect dynamic threats and flexible APIs that facilitate seamless integration. More importantly, the XDR uses these features to unify security operations and boost their effectiveness. This novel approach to threat detection could help improve cybersecurity risk management amid rising cyberattack incidences.

What is GITEX?

The Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) is an annual innovation and electronics exhibition in Dubai. Since its inception in 1981, GITEX has functioned as a platform for innovative companies to showcase their newly developed products to a global audience. More importantly, GITEX has built a strong network spanning over seven tech communities and over 100,000 business connections over the years. Essentially, it provides a breeding ground for tech enthusiasts to network, build connections, and stay up-to-date on the industry. Companies also gain access to a wide range of prospective investors and consumers. Notably, Microsoft debuted the release of Windows 7 at the GITEX conference in 2009. This year’s edition is set to take place in Dubai from October 10 to October 14.
