An Important Turning Point in India-UAE Educational Cooperation

According to the Vision Document that UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled in February 2022, the opening of the IIT Delhi campus in the UAE marks a major turning point in the growing India-UAE relationship. The basis for expanding and strengthening cooperation between the two countries in new fields is laid forth in this document. India-UAE relations are strengthened by the presence of the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus, as underlined by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Using the power of information, science, and technology, he emphasized the campus’s significance in improving both mutual and global prosperity, describing it as an embodiment of the relationship between the two nations.

Launch of the MTech Initiative and Strategic Alliances

The first Master of Technology (MTech) program in Energy Transition and Sustainability was introduced by IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi in January 2024. The first-ever MTech students were given the exceptional chance to meet Prime Minister Modi in February when he was in Abu Dhabi. During the inaugural ceremony, IIT Delhi inked numerous significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with prominent Abu Dhabi establishments, such as the Sorbonne University-Abu Dhabi, Khalifa University, Zayed University, and Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI). These collaborations are anticipated to foster innovation, boost the expansion of regional start-ups, and improve Abu Dhabi’s academic and research environment.
