Ashtead Technology has entered into a global partnership with EdgeTech to bring the innovative eBOSS (EdgeTech Buried Object Sonar System) to the subsea technology rental market. This cutting-edge sonar system is designed to enhance the detection, location, classification, and identification of buried or partially exposed objects on the seabed, including unexploded ordnance (UXO).
Enhanced Capabilities for Detecting Various Subsea Objects
The eBOSS technology was first created to detect smaller UXO, but it can also detect larger things including cables, pipelines, mine-like objects, and other underwater impediments. eBOSS’s low-frequency acoustic imaging characteristics make it perfect for real-time surveys, such as route surveys and pipeline and cable tracking. Furthermore, the system can use synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) to gather data for post-project processing, producing fine-grained three-dimensional photographs of subsurface objects.
