UAE Showcases Explorers of Space’ at Expo 2025 Osaka, Bridging Innovation and Tradition

UAE Showcases Explorers

Japan’s Osaka —  With the launch of its innovative “Explorers of Space” platform, the focal point of the UAE Pavilion that blends high-tech storytelling with national aspiration and legacy, the United Arab Emirates is drawing attention at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai.

From the historic Emirates Mars Mission (Hope Probe) to the Rashid Rover and upcoming asteroid expeditions, the interactive exhibit takes visitors on an immersive trip of the UAE’s explosive ascent in space research.  It is a story of creativity with a strong sense of patriotism, not just a display of achievements.

Space42: Powering a Bold Vision

The exhibit is brought to life through a partnership with Space42, the UAE’s premier space technology firm and official curator of the Explorers of Space zone. Under the theme “From Earth to Ether,” the pavilion emphasizes how space innovation can generate tangible, Earth-focused solutions.

“This platform reflects our commitment to pushing technological boundaries while delivering real-world impact,” said Sulaiman Al Ali, Chief Commercial Officer at Space42. The Abu Dhabi-based company is leveraging artificial intelligence and geospatial intelligence to redefine satellite communications and global connectivity.

With a footprint spanning more than 150 countries, Space42’s projects on display include:

  • Thuraya-4: Delivering next-generation mobile and maritime services
  • Foresight Constellation: Expanding global Earth observation capabilities
  • Yah 4 & Yah 5: Supporting national tech-driven initiatives
  • AI-Powered Solutions: Over 15 new innovations in development
  • Radar Satellite Constellation: Set for completion by 2027

Crucially, Space42 stands as the UAE’s first space technology enterprise to integrate AI into its full operational model—cementing its role as a strategic driver of the country’s space ambitions.

Strengthening Ties with Japan

The UAE Pavilion also highlights the expanding space collaboration between the UAE and Japan, which has already been characterized by successful collaborative missions and a shared dedication to scientific advancement.  Expo 2025 is a crucial time to strengthen these partnerships and expand on common goals for research and creativity.

Where Heritage Meets the Future

The pavilion showcases a handcrafted rocket sculpture constructed from palm fronds (khoos), which pays homage to Emirati artisanal legacy in a remarkable fusion of tradition and technology.  The artwork, which took months to complete and was made by artisans from the House of Artisans, represents the nation’s smooth blending of its history with its future in space.

This symbolic work of art captures the heart of the UAE Pavilion’s message: that tradition and innovation are not opposites, but partners in progress—propelling a nation from Earth to ether.
