The PIF-funded giga-project ROSHN Group, KSA’s top national real estate developer, has been awarded the BSI (British Standards Institution) Kitemark for Smart Cities. This achievement is a major milestone for the group, especially because it is the first company to receive this coveted international accreditation in the IMETA (India, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa) area, among the first in the private sector globally, and among the top 20 companies worldwide.

BSI Kitemark for Smart Cities: ROSHN Group’s Commitment to Smart Cities and ISO Standards

The CEO of ROSHN Group, David Grover, emphasized the organization’s commitment to raising the bar for the real estate industry in KSA and the larger region. According to him, their effort to support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 is consistent with this commitment. He continued that the accomplishment of the BSI Kitemark for Smart Cities by ROSHN represents a significant milestone and demonstrates the company’s leadership in this area. He claimed that the entire ROSHN team, which took part in numerous assessments, worked together to achieve this success. This demonstrates the company’s broad commitment to ensuring sustainable planning and development, using new technology, and improving quality of life to benefit its customers and their communities.

According to the BSI’s Smart City Maturity Model, ROSHN has attained the “Collaborative” certification, demonstrating its successful creation of procedures for creating sustainable communities within a smart city operational model. The development of integrated communities by ROSHN is based on the application of smart city technology, which promotes a sustainable way of life in a variety of household and societal contexts, including home security, irrigation, and intelligent transportation options.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an autonomous non-governmental organization with the goal of developing global standards that encourage innovation and provide workable market solutions to the problems facing the globe, was established in 1947. The business improvement and standards organization, BSI, helps companies transform best practices into excellence-driven habits, “inspiring trust for a more resilient world.”

British Standards Institution is a global corporation with over 77,500 clients in 195 countries with capabilities and experience in many sectors, including automotive, aerospace, built environment, food and retail, and healthcare. BSI helps clients improve their performance, grow sustainably, manage risk, and eventually become more resilient through its expertise in Standards and Knowledge, Assurance Services, Regulatory Services, and Consulting Services.

Takeaways

Without a doubt, this BSI Kitemark for Smart Cities accomplishment demonstrates ROSHN’s dedication to advancing sustainability within the world’s built environment, which could help society achieve a digitally enabled, safer, and sustainable future for all. Achieving the first Kitemark in the region sets the bar for others in the area to follow. It represents the pioneering and industry-leading culture of ROSHN and its beneficial impact.
