The DMCC AI Centre is a new platform aimed at advancing the real-world application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and promoting its practical use. The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) is a well-known free zone and government authority for commodities trade and enterprise in Dubai.
At the launch event, Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, Chief AI Officer of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), ambassadors, government officials, AI firms, and various industry stakeholders were among the over sixty distinguished guests to whom DMCC representatives gave an overview of the center’s unique offerings. The services provided by the centre and the advantages it provides to businesses and innovators were emphasised by the representatives.
Khalfan Belhoul highlighted that the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence outlines Dubai’s goal of being a global leader in AI by 2031. In order to accomplish this, he said, the opening of the DMCC AI Centre is an essential first step. It will create an atmosphere that not only draws in new companies but also encourages innovation, solidifying Dubai’s position as a major hub for AI and emerging technologies worldwide.
A Centre Combining the Gaming, Crypto, and AI Industries
The AI Centre will be a part of a recently constructed hub that also houses the DMCC Crypto Centre and DMCC Gaming Centre. It is housed in the DMCC Uptown Tower offices. According to Dubai Media Office, this cutting-edge building will have sophisticated co-working spaces, cutting-edge meeting rooms, and a dedicated showroom for AI products.
At the moment, more than 50 international robotics and AI firms call DMCC home, including well-known brands like AMD, Autel Robotics, HIKVISION, Laipic, and QX Lab AI. By collaborating with a number of top AI companies, DMCC has strengthened the value proposition of the AI Centre and established a supportive ecosystem for innovation and expansion.
Encouraging GCC-Wide Sustainable AI Solutions
Global bespoke software and app developer Builder.ai will donate its knowledge and technology to help DMCC members create AI-driven applications. In the meantime, market entrance and accelerator programs created to draw in and grow top AI breakthroughs from across the globe will be managed by the UAE-based AGCC. At the Expand North Star event in Dubai in October, DMCC and AGCC will host a competition with a $100,000 prize fund for firms who are concentrating on developing sustainable AI solutions for the GCC.
The Economic Potential of AI
The CEO and Executive Chairman of DMCC, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, spoke about the enormous economic impact of AI, estimating that it will boost the world economy by more than $15 trillion by 2030. He emphasised how AI may revolutionise supply networks, international trade, and corporate operations. By providing access to a top-tier ecosystem of AI services and solutions, the DMCC AI Centre seeks to maximise this potential for businesses, investors, and partners. Both AI-focused and non-AI firms will benefit from these technologies as they grow and draw additional service providers to the Centre, which will have a positive knock-on impact that improves both the business district of DMCC and the larger community.
Using AI Technology to Promote Business Growth
The CEO and founder of Builder.ai, Sachin Dev Duggal, expressed enthusiasm about working with the DMCC AI Centre. He underlined how AI has the ability to revolutionise industries and provide companies and entrepreneurs in Dubai and the MENA area more power. Builder.ai hopes to provide useful and substantial AI solutions through this relationship, assisting businesses in a variety of industries in utilising cutting-edge technology to realise notable and scalable growth.
